Cat in the Hat Party Hat

Hi friends! We’re continuing on with Dr. Seuss themed crafts (because let’s face it, they’re SO much fun) today with another super fun and SUPER easy Cat in the Hat Party Hat! Are you planning to throw a little par-tay with your kids for Dr. Seuss’ birthday? It’s March 2nd so coming up fast – so now’s the perfect time to break out the paint and construction paper and have some One Fish, Two Fish FUN! My boys love the books, I even picked up a few more from Target this weekend because, of course, they’re on sale right now. You’ve been warned! So we’ve also been rounding up some fun ideas (check out these 25+ Dr. Seuss Ideas) and coming up with a few new ones of our own! Did you SEE the cute Lorax Paper Plate Craft Stacey shared with us yesterday? We’re going to have to try that one ourselves. Ok, on to today’s Cat in the Hat craft…

What you’ll need:

Red plastic cups
White multi-surface paint
Foam paint brush
Scissors
Baker’s twine

And the steps:

Simply paint a couple of white stripes on to your red plastic cup and let dry.
Once dry, punch a couple of holes on to the side of the cup.
String baker’s twine through the holes so you can tie the little party hat to the kiddos’ heads!

And voila! A Cat in the Hat Party Hat! Yup, from a red plastic cup. Maybe the easiest little craft ever? Yes. That’s how we do.

But this is the perfect craft for your kiddos to tackle (minus the whole punching part, I was even a little nervous about that step). And my boys just LOVED them. Of course they were asking me where the birthday party was once they had them on. Smart boys – well played.
