DIY Cork Flower Vases

DIY Cork Flower Vases and beautiful blooms!
Hi friends! I’m excited to bring you yet another Michaels Makers project today – these DIY Cork Flower Vases! Last month we shared a fun project inspired by Michaels – these Painted Bushel Baskets and they’re still getting PLENTY of use! And this month we’re sharing another project that I can see getting plenty of use to come. Michaels has a new line coming out next month and we got a special sneak peak! One of my favorite items in our package was some amazing cork ribbon, and I put that to good use in this project!

Now I’m a BIG fan of flowers. Fresh flowers. Wild bouquets of everything you can think of and put together. And honestly I like to pick up whatever my local store has on hand. That way it saves on the budget but you can still get the same level of enjoyment! And plain old vases just don’t cut it. I like to mix up my vases with mason jars and pitchers – and in this case I found the CUTEST Summer jars at Michaels that I knew we could spruce up with that darling cork ribbon. And you can do the same! With any flat jars or vases you have around…

What you’ll need:

  • RAW Brute Natural Cork Ribbon
  • Jar or vase
  • Weldbond Adhesive
  • Scissors
  • Foam brush

And the steps:

  1. Measure a length of cork ribbon that wraps all the way around your jar or vase.
  2. Cut with scissors and repeat until you have enough cork ribbon to cover the amount of the jar or vase you would like covered.
  3. Apply Weldbond adhesive to your jar or vase and spread with a foam brush.
  4. Arrange the cork ribbon as desired on your jar or vase, making sure to tack down the ends with extra adhesive.
  5. Allow adhesive to dry.

And the result? Some adorable and EASY DIY Cork Flower Vases!

Or really these cork jars could be used for anything. You could paint numbers or labels on them and use them for storage. The sky is the limit! But there is one thing that I know – they’re stinking adorable! I really love how they turned out. And they’re perfect for my store-bought flowers…

Now you could wrap the cork all the way to the top if you’d like. I personally love a bit of the water and stems peeking through. But hands down I LOVE this cork ribbon! I’m already thinking of other uses for it…it’s just so pretty, natural and RAW.
Raw Bar at Michaels
Speaking of raw, don’t forget that NEW Raw Bar line will be available in all Michaels stores nationwide starting August 8!! Raw Bar is a brand new line of products made of or accessorized by materials inspired by nature. Surfaces and textures include: burlap, cork, chalk board, wood, metal and canvas. Michaels created the Raw Bar because customers requested raw surfaces that are unfinished and easily craft-able.
Now this sounds right up my alley and I can’t wait to see what else is in store! If it’s anything like the cork ribbon we’ve worked with today, I am ON BOARD! You’ll have to let me know when you see it in stores and what you buy first! Now click around to the other Michaels Makers RAW projects…
