Perfect for summer play, #SharkWeek or any day of the year – whip up this 3-ingredient DIY Shark Slime that is non-toxic, safe and easy enough for your kids to make!

Hi friends! I don’t know about your family, but as we head into summer – we have #SharkWeek on the brain. Avid shark lovers, my boys have loved shark week for years and for me it’s such a fun way for all of us to bond and spend time together as a family. Each year we do fun projects and get new shark gear, like our
Shark Frenzy Ice Cream,
Strawberry Lemonade Chumsicles,
Shark Week Outfits,
Shark Mittens and more
Shark Week Ideas!
This year is no exception. We’ve been brainstorming fun ideas in preparation for Shark Week next month and my boys came up with this fun and easy DIY Shark Slime. SO EASY that the kids can make it themselves! And with just 3 non-toxic ingredients, you’ll be a-ok with letting them. So we headed to our local Michaels Stores and got the glue and sharks we needed for the project, thankfully mom already had baking soda and contact lens solution on hand!
What you’ll need:
And the steps:
Simply squeeze all the glue out into a small bowl. Add in your baking soda until mixed thoroughly. Then add your contact lens solution and stir until the mixture no longer moves.

Then knead the slime with your hands until all the solution is mixed in. If the slime is still sticky, simply
add a little more contact lens solution at a time until it achieves the consistency you’re looking for an no longer sticks to your fingers.
My 6-year old son Alex made the WHOLE THING by himself! You can see the surprise on his face by the results. Then we added a Toob full of Prehistoric Sharks we found at Michaels and my shark-loving boy could NOT be happier.

He played for HOURS with his new
DIY Shark Slime. I love that he found a project that he could work on himself, he had so much fun making it and even more playing with it!

And when it was ready for cleanup time, we stored the slime in an airtight plastic jar we found at Michaels too.

Perfect for keeping that slime fresh for hours of playtime to come! So if your kiddos are ready for Shark Week like mine are, if you’re looking for a project they can take on to ward away summer boredom – then give our DIY Shark Slime a try!
I’m so glad that we did!
This is such a fun summertime activity! Totally doing this with my kids soon!
