No-Sew Heart Elbow Patches

Hi friends! I’m excited to bring you yet another easy Valentine’s Day project today – these No-Sew Heart Elbow Patches! If you’re like me, you like to add a little somethin somethin to clothes come holiday time. I mean, I guess you can BUY a heart shirt or whatever, but I always find that I could just make something similar in minutes and for WAY less than you would find in the store. And this project involves some FUN Elmer’s products! I shared with you last month that this year I’m part of the Elmer’s Craft It! Crew! So I’ll be sharing fun and fabulous projects that you can take on with the best in Elmer’s products. So for this Valentine’s Day, my lil man will be sporting this cute little shirt, fashioned with some no-sew Heart Elbow Patches!
Now I started with a shirt that my son has almost outgrown, that already has faux “patches” on the back. This helped me to position the hearts quickly and easily in place! If you start with a shirt that doesn’t have patch areas, you’ll want to try the shirt on first and mark the area where your elbows hit.

What you’ll need:

• Shirt or sweater
• Felt
• Elmer’s Craft Bond Fabric & Paper Glue
• Elmer’s Painters Paint Markers

And the steps:

1. Draw heart shapes on felt, the size that you would like your patches.
2. Draw “stitch” marks on the heart, or any other design you might like, with the Elmer’s Painters.
3. Cut out your heart patches.
4. Cover the back of the heart patch with Elmer’s Craft Bond Fabric & Paper Glue.
5. Press the heart to the area of the shirt sleeve that you’ve marked.
6. Let dry for 24 hours before use – a week before washing!

And the result? One super CUTE and EASY Valentine’s Day shirt with Heart Elbow Patches!

So fun, right? But what about ON? Ok, so my lil man said he’d show his new shirt off for you – I think he’s getting a little too used to this…
