Stencil Painted Clipboard with Americana Multi-Surface Satins

Hi friends – there’s a new paint on the block – Americana Multi-Surface Satins by DecoArt! Eeee! What was that? Did I just squeal a little bit? Why yes, yes I did. Why? I love how my first project turned out, but let me tell you, these paints will make their way into MANY of my future projects! Ok, now back to these fun Stencil Painted Clipboards!
So a few months ago, I picked up some clipboards at my local dollar store, just because I knew that I wanted to do something fun with them! I’m honestly surprised they haven’t been hit with chalkboard paint at this point. How they survived that fate, I’ll never know! Haha. But a couple of weeks ago I saw a fun organization station with decoupaged clipboards and I thought YES, I could PAINT these shiny, slick clipboards with these new fab Multi-Surface Satins and the fun new Americana Mixed Media Stencils!

What you’ll need:

• Clipboards
• Americana Multi-Surface Satins
• Americana Mixed Media Stencils
• Stencil or painter’s tape
• Foam brush and/or pouncers

And the steps:

1. I painted the base of the clipboards in Americana Multi-Surface Satins in Cottonball for a neutral starting base.
2. Once that was dry, I positioned angular motion Americana Mixed Media Stencils and taped down in place with painter’s tape.
3. Using foam pouncers, I filled in the stencil area with Americana Multi-Surface Satins in Deep Turquoise and Dark Scarlet, letting each section dry in between.

And just like that you’re done – you have an easy Stencil Painted Clipboard!



The designs and colors are endless! I personally adore the red and turquoise combination, which is the driver behind why I picked those two colors.
