Summertime and sunny days are soon to arrive. Perfect for summer parties, You Are My Sunshine Party Decorations are fun, festive and easy to put together with the Sunshine die that I designed for Sizzix.
To make these you will need assorted yellow papers and fabric scraps. I used the die to cut out the paper pieces in the sunshine. I always love the way things come together when mixing up paper with fabric…and of course sugary sweet foods too!
I tied a long strip of fabric around a jar then tied scraps in knots to the longer strip. This is such a great way to make garland too and can be done in any color. It works great with fabric, felt and ribbon.
I sewed a paper set of the sunshine to the ribbon on my sewing machine. You could use glue too but I love to sew and really like the way it looks when paper and fabric are stitched together.
Then I tied it to the longer strip in a bow. Ta Da!
I also sewed some sunshine sets to long pieces of scrap ribbon. I think these
You Are My Sunshine Party Decorations are darling!
I used them to decorate drink jars for serving lemonade.
This yummy Sunshine Popcorn Mix recipe is over on my blog right
HERE. I love the way it looks in a bag to be given as a gift when decorated with tag made with a stamp from
Expressionery (one that I designed!).
Cheers to Sunshine and Darling Parties,
Laura
