Apple Tree Kids Craft

Hi A Night Owl readers! It’s me – Stacey from Glued To My Crafts. Can you believe we are heading towards fall already? If you are like me, you are pretty excited for the season change. Not only because of the cool down in the weather, but all the fall related events we can take part in this time of year. One of the things I’m really excited for is visiting the local apple orchards in our neighboring state, Colorado. Last year things just didn’t work out {my husband was deployed and then we took a family vacation to Ohio} so I’m trying extra hard to make it happen this year. So to get my son prepared for the future family adventure {and welcome fall in our home} we recently made this Apple Tree Kids Craft together. It’s super easy, has cheap materials and even has my son’s handprint in it. Ready to learn how to make one with your child today?

Supplies:

Large Paper Plate
Green Tissue Paper
Red/Brown Cardstock
Scissors
Glue
Marker
Circle Punch
Stapler

Directions:

First cut up your green tissue paper into small squares.
Next put a good layer of glue all over the paper plate. Ask your child to place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered.
Punch several red circles out of your red cardstock. These are the apples. Have your child glue them all over, on top of the green tissue paper. Once done, set aside paper plate to let it dry completely.
To make the trunk of the tree, have your child lay one hand in the center of the brown cardstock. Using a marker, trace your child’s hand and part of their arm. Cut out the finished piece with scissors.
Staple the “trunk” the tree to the paper plate.
