Easy Craft Room Organization Ideas

Hi friends! We’re continuing on our home organization kick today with Easy Craft Room Organization Ideas! We partnered with Michaels Stores to bring you yet another fun Michaels Makers project. If it’s your resolution to get organized in the new year, let me tell you that Michaels has everything you need to get your craft room or space sorted out!
I have had a room for a few years now that plays two roles – home office and craft room/storage. When I first set up the room it was more focused on the home office, so I created a space that was calm and refreshing. I decorated in muted, neutral colors that I knew could transition with the space no matter what its use.

So from the outset you may not think “craft room”. But stick around, we’ll get to that. Even in my clean and neutral office space, we have plenty of opportunities for stylish storage!

I snagged a little painted jar from Michaels that is perfect to hold pencils, pens and scissors for easy access on my desk. And one of my favorite finds? These gorgeous Recollections Paper Storage Boxes. The neutral colors are perfect, and now I have the perfect place to wrangle and store all my loose leaf scrap paper and favorite paper pads.

A metal wire basket holds our favorite magazines on top of a thrifted trunk, perfect to store away more craft items. And our Glitter Cake Plate holds a few craft goodies we like to have close at hand. But maybe what you had in mind was a little more colorful? We hear ya! One of my favorite aspects of this room is a decent sized closet. Just open the door to a world full of crafty, colorful fun!

Grab fabric bins to store your craft essentials – we have bins for ribbon, yarn, glue, jewelry supplies and more! Up top you can store larger items with Recollections™ Storage Boxes.

On the top shelf of the organizer, we like to stack craft paints (bottom out) for quick access to the colors we need. And a pretty tiered stand is perfect to hold our collection of baker’s twine.

And for washi tape organization? One of our favorite finds a few years ago, this June Tailor Rak! And we added this awesome Recollections™ Washi Tape Dispenser Set to the mix recently, and it’s just perfect!

And last but not least, for easy access to our most used craft tools, like glitter (hello!), our paper punches, craft bags, etc – these Recollections™ 6 Drawer Metal Carts are perfect! I love that you can sneak a peak of what’s inside and the drawers are shallow, so no need to muddle through bins of items to get to what you need quickly! And with two carts side by side, we have a handle little space on top that’s perfect to store our Silhouette CAMEO!

So that’s it! A little tour of the space we like to create in! Oh and an obvious disclaimer, it does NOT look like this everyday! I spent hours cleaning and arranging and adding new storage solutions from Michaels! And a note to the clumsy – this type of organizing CAN be detrimental to your health! Just ask a box and my second toe…which is now just a tad bit broken after a little disagreement. No worries – having this room clean and organized for my daily work and creating is worth it!
