Hi friends! Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up quickly here, starting the week of Monday, May 1st! This is one of my favorite times of the year to craft for because not only do I love making things, I LOVE to give gifts! And while I know that teachers want much more than some “apple” thing that we’ve crafted, I do love to make a little something and pop in a gift card or two. That works, right? So today I’m going to share the cutest little Gift Card Flower Pot Teacher Appreciation Gifts that we whipped up in just an afternoon with supplied from our local Michaels Stores! What You’ll Need:
- Flower pot or bucket
- Styrofoam
- Glue gun/glue
- Floral clips
- Plant stakes
- Floral stems
Now while you can use a terracotta pot or really any flower pot you can find, I loved these little buckets you can find at Michaels Stores! I used mine in my
DIY Boho Flower Arrangement and I still love having it in my home. So if it’s something I love in my home, I knew it would make a great gift as well! I also found these adorable Floral Clips at Michaels that were perfect for this craft! They’re perfect for holding gift cards (we’ll get to how we’ll manage that in a bit)! If you can’t find these you could simply get regular flowers and find clips to attach to them for the cards.
The first thing you’re going to want to do is glue your plant stakes just underneath the clip.
Then add your styrofoam to your bucket, using hot glue to glue it in place.
Add your flower clips on plant stakes to your flower pot or bucket. Arrange them so that once you add the gift cards that they will be presented nicely.
Then turn your flower pot around and fill in the the rest of the arrangement with your floral stems. We used a number of greenery stems to vary the look and add texture to the arrangement.
Once you’re happy with the arrangement it’s time to add in your gift cards! I know gift cards to Michaels Stores are welcomed with open arms, but add in whatever your teachers love – coffee, movies and more! And when you’re done you have ADORABLE
Gift Card Flower Pot Teacher Appreciation Gifts!
I have two kids so two teachers we want to recognize this year so I created two different gifts, and I love them both!
What do you think?
I love how LOVELY they turned out! And really – this gift could be used for much more than Teacher Appreciation Week. Think Mother’s Day or even birthdays!

As a retired teacher, this would be a very useful and personal gift.
