Hi friends! Time for another round of 12 Months of Martha with Martha Stewart Crafts! If you’re new around here, this year I’m involved in a 12 Months of Martha program with Martha Stewart Living. You can get more information and follow along on our 12 Months of Martha Page! Now on to this month’s project – an easy Monogrammed Etched Cloche!
Now I just LOVE monogram projects  – ok and etched glass projects too! Really, I could monogram or etch anything in our house and be perfectly happy with it! So when I got this month’s #12MonthsofMartha box and saw the awesome stencil tape and etching cream, I knew just what I wanted to do! I bought this lovely tall glass cloche on clearance for $4 at a hobby store about a month ago that I hadn’t put to use yet. Can you believe that deal? I couldn’t pass it up for sure! I think that is jut needed something. And I knew that a ring of etched glass with Martha Stewart Crafts Etching Cream would add just the visual interest I was looking for! And of course I had to throw our monogram in there for good measure. It was a simple 30-minute project, let me show you!

What you’ll need:

And the steps:

  1. Clean your glass thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, water and soap.
  2. Add your monogram – I used an “S” that I cut out of vinyl with a cutting machine.
  3. Add the stencil tape above and below the monogram.
  4. Generously apply the etching cream over the blocked out area and on top of the monogram – with the etching cream more is more! You want to make sure that the layer is thick!
  5. After 15 minutes, rinse the etching cream off and you’re done!

I put the cloche over one of our DIY Mercury Glass Succulent Planters, on top of some books and it’s just perfect! I love the added depth and interest it gives to the simple $4 cloche.
