Hi friends! Can you believe that “Back to School” is right around the corner? I have friends on year-round schedules who have already gone back, mine go back in a few weeks…then I know there are some who don’t start until September. I don’t know about you, but every year I set out to do things a little better, a little earlier and a little more organized.

Like this year? I’ve already purchased items off supply lists and our boys have already picked out new backpacks (that’s a lesson I learned last year when the variety was quite picked over). And you know what else? This year I’ve already set up a Mobile Homework Station that will keep my boys supplied with pencils, crayons, glue and more – everything they’ll need this year to get through their homework and school projects without my having to search our home and craft stash every single time. Now no matter where they’re doing their projects, they can roll the station along with them and have supplies right at hand.

I did just that and got a Recollections Lexington 3-Tier Rolling Cart (available in multiple colors), Recollections Latchmate Storage Bins with Trays and tons of Back to School Supplies like crayons, glue, paint, marker, scissors, paint brushes and paper.

DIY Homework Station

First up, I assembled the rolling cart. It came in a neat little box, but I was able to put it together in under 10 minutes! And it’s so cute, perfect to hold so many different things.

Then it was time to organize! The nice thing with the Recollections products is how nicely the storage bins and trays fit into the trays of the rolling cart! I used the tray from a large bin on the top tray and filled it with items they’ll likely use often.

I used two small storage bins on the middle tray, which included paint, our large box of crayons and markers and extra glue, etc. These are items that they may not need to use daily, but will be nice to have close at hand so I know if any supplies are running low. I stashed cardstock and construction paper in the large bin and stowed that away on the bottom tray.

Now our Mobile Homework Station was ready to go and it was assembled and organized in no time!

Kids Homework Station

Now it was time to put it to good use! We’re getting the boys ready for Back to School with some practice notebooks so I let one of them at the Homework Station to go through his workbook projects.

He was able to do everything he needed with everything in reach. Now if only actually helping them with their homework was this easy…
