Do you love pastels as much as I do? I think these muted pastel colors are so pretty and they fit in perfectly with my Easter decor, however, I know that some of you love to use lots of vivd color for Spring and Easter. If that’s you,  feel free to change the paint colors to match your Easter decorating style. But, if you are a pastel lover like me I included the exact paint colors I used below!

All you need for this easy Easter craft is:

  • Oblong wood slices
  • Chalk paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Small hoop eye pins
  • Decorative ribbon

How to Make Painted Wood Slice Easter Eggs

For our eggs, we used DecoArt Americana Chalky Finish paint in Everlasting (white), Serene (blue), New Life (green), Rejuvinate (yellow) and Romance (red). If you use dark colors like we did, first you’re going to want to lighten each of the four colored paints by mixing them with the white paint (one-to-one ratio).

Next, paint an oval egg on to the surface of each wood slice with a different color of lightened paint. Leave a small border of unpainted wood on the outer edge. Let dry and then repeat on the other side if desired.

Starting with the yellow egg, add embellishments with the other colors of paints. Add different colors and thicknesses of lines and different colored dots. Next, paint the green egg with different colors of zig zags, lines and dots. For the blue egg, add different colors of wavy lines and yellow dots.
