Gold Dipped Flatware

Spruce up plain or mismatched flatware with gold paint!
Hi friends! It’s been a quiet week, things have been so busy! I do have a fun, quick how-to to share with you today – Gold Dipped Flatware! Who doesn’t LOVE a little bit of GOLD in their lives? It’s one of my favorite Fall colors, prepare yourselves! We started with some Gold Fall Planters, but there is much more gold fun to be had! A few weeks ago I put together a quick little ice cream party to kick off our family vacation and spruced up some of our plain spoons and jars with GOLD Americana Gloss Enamels from DecoArt!

The how-to is easy! Simply paint a few layers on the handles until you’ve reached desired coverage. Let dry for 48 hours. Then place flatware in a cold oven (I set on a cookie baking sheet); set temperature at 325 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Then turn off the oven and crack open the door. Allow the spoons to cool down before removing. Keep in mind that the paint is not for direct contact with food; however the ends of the spoons are just fine! And there you have it – perfectly fun gold dipped flatware! Kinda fancy, right? Not bad for dollar store flatware!
