DIY No-Sew Football Tee
Hi friends! Today I’m sharing with you a quick, easy and affordable tutorial to make your very own DIY No-Sew Football Tee! We are BIG football fans in my household. So needless to say we have our fair share of footballs and jerseys. But have you seen those cute football tees and onesies with laces on sites like Etsy? I know I have, and I even bought one last year, for $20+! Now I’m all for supporting handmade businesses (and do all the time!), but when I think it’s something I can make myself (and cheaper too), I like to give it a try! Enter Aleene’s glues and adhesives.
Now you all are familiar with tacky glue, right? That stuff is a crafter’s dream! But did you know that there is an entire line of Aleene’s glues and adhesives? Well I’ve had a chance to do some crafting with the items you see above, and they are all just fabulous! In particular I have to say I’m a big fan of Aleene’s Peel & Stick Tape. I’m not an expert seamstress by any means, so this tape is perfect for quick and easy fabric projects, like this DIY No-Sew Football Tee!
What you’ll need:
- Aleene’s Peel & Stick Tape
- Brown T-Shirt
- White Cotton Belting or Ribbon
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape/Ruler
And the steps:
- Cut lengths of the belting or ribbon for the football laces (on this sized tee, I cut the long piece at 9″ and the shorter ones at 5″)
- Line the back of the laces with Aleene’s Peel & Stick Tape
- Place the long lace down first, then space out your shorter laces accordingly until you get the football laces look, and you’re done!
And here’s how the little DIY No-Sew Football Tee turned out, pretty cute right?
How easy is that? It was so easy that though I had made the first tee for my 3-yo, I made another one for my youngest, just with slightly smaller laces. Oh and I had to show you how cute he looks in it!
So have you been wanting your own football tee but have been wary of the price or thought it might be too hard to make it yourself? Then go pick up some Aleene’s Peel & Stick Tape and give it a try! I promise you won’t be disappointed! You can find Aleene’s glues and adhesives on their site, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest too!
I wrote this post as part of a paid campaign with Aleene’s and Blueprint Social. However, the opinions in this post are my own.
