Swedish Fish Valentine’s Gift
Let your guy know he is “quite a catch” with this easy, adorable Swedish Fish Valentine’s Gift complete with a hand stamped tag and stringer of paper fish!
Hi Night Owlers and happy 2016! Keri from Shaken Together here and I am so excited to celebrate one of my favorite holidays with you … Valentine’s Day! Sweet little gifts to show my special guys how much I love them are pretty much my thing. So, for my ever so patient hubby of almost 16 years, I wanted him know that I still think that he is “quite a catch!”
This mason jar is stuffed to the gills with Swedish fish! Not only are they delicious but they are red and perfect for a Valentine’s gift!
A simple stamped tag and a stringer of paper fish add the perfect hand made touch, too!
Here is what you’ll need for each Swedish Fish Valentine’s Gift …
- Mason Jar
- Swedish Fish (or any gummy fish)
- Kraft paper tag (or make your own with kraft card stock)
- Doubled sided card stock with a small pattern like polka dots or a small plaid
- Bakers Twine
- Scissors
- Alphabet Stamps
- Black Ink Pad
The How-To
First, fill the mason jar with Swedish fish.
Stamp your message on the kraft paper tag with the alphabet stamps and ink pad.
Cut two paper fish from the patterned card stock. Now, my fish are not perfect. I think it is part of the charm of a handmade gift. You can sketch them out first if you prefer – my paper fish are about 2 1/2 inches long. Use a small hole punch to punch holes in the top of the fish. When I hung them, I flipped one fish around to show the solid blue color that was on the back of my polka dot card stock.
Tie the stamped tag and the paper fish around the neck of the mason jar and this sweet little gift is ready to give! I think it is SO cute … and darn! I just might have some Swedish fish leftover 😉
That’s not the only pun-y gift I’ve got … check out these Valentine’s gifts from Shaken Together!
Pucker Up, Valentine ~ Lemon Drop Valentine Mason Jar Gift
These are so cute! I made something like this for my husband a few years ago on Valentine’s day and it was definitely well received!
