Add a little flair to your holiday cocktails this season with these fabulous DIY Feather Drink Stirrers!
Hi friends! Amanda here from
Let’s Fête bringing you a little DIY that I think will be my holiday favorite. Make these adorable cocktail stirrers for your bar cart, party decor or even pair with some drink fixings for an awesome hostess gift.
I for one would love that gift.
You’ll need:
- small wooden skewers (or long ones if you want to add to a champagne glass!)
- hot glue
- small feathers (I used these)
- thin gold cording (like this)
- tape
How to make:
Select a few feathers that vary in size, color and texture. I chose these natural feathers, but think white would be amazing for holiday themed parties too! Hold the feathers in place, covering about a half inch of the wooden skewer and wrap with a piece of tape. Don’t worry about the tape getting the best hold, the gold cord and hot glue will do the real work.
Now, I wanted a pretty seamless look, so I tuck the end of the gold rope up and wrap back up over it. Just a dab of hot glue at the top and trim the rope off right at the top. You shouldn’t have any trouble with these coming loose. It might take a little practice since you need to hold and wrap at the same time, but you’ll get it. If it makes it easier, use some hot glue at the beginning stage too – that will keep it in place and give you more time to wrap.
Now…add it to a cocktail, give yourself a little pat on the back and smile. How pretty is that? Yep, I’ll be making these all holiday season as well. And I may or may not be developing my entire holiday decor around them. Feathers, warm tones, a splash of gold here and there. Can’t go wrong.
